Whether you are simply looking for a good family pet or a well-trained hunting dog, it all begins with a solid foundation of socialization and obedience training followed by skills development. Jock River Kennels offers several options to meet your needs.

Good Manners Obedience Training Classes

A happy household involves having a dog that responds to basic commands so that it behaves in an appropriate and well-mannered way when it is in your home, someone else’s home, or in a public place where it is in the presence of other people, other dogs, or other animals. Jock River Kennels offers various levels of 6-week long obedience training classes designed to meet your personal expectations of a good companion and/or the criteria set by the Canadian Kennel Club for the following obedience trial classes: Pre-Novice, Novice, or Novice Intermediate.  (Refer to the Obedience Trial & Rally Obedience Trial Rules & Regulations.)

Board & Train

Are you someone who wants a well-trained dog, but doesn’t have the time or the interest in completing the training yourself? Jock River Kennels has the perfect solution for you. Leave your dog with us and we’ll do the training for you.

Gun Dog Training

This option is for someone who loves to hunt and is looking to have someone else train their dog to be a good hunting partner. Jock River Kennels will train your dog to meet the hunt test standards established by the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) for one or more of the following hunting levels: Junior Hunter, Senior Hunter, or Master Hunter. (Refer to section 9 – Test Requirements of the CKC Hunt Test Rules and Regulations for Retrievers, Barbet, Irish Water Spaniels & Standard Poodles)

Started Dog

Are you someone who is looking for a dog as a pet or hunting partner, but is hoping to skip the puppy stage and immediately have a well-trained dog? If so, the started dog option may be right for you.
